charter.
Mission
The CAB will review plans and programs of the U.S. Department of Energy Nevada
Site Office (DOE/NSO) EM program, and will provide citizen recommendations and
advice for environmental restoration and waste management in all the areas of
responsibility covered by the DOE/NSO EM program within the state of Nevada.
The areas within Nevada include the NTS, Central Nevada Test Area, Project Shoal
Area, parts of the Tonopah Test Range, and parts of the Nellis Test and Training
Range.
The NTS CAB mission applies only to EM
programmatic activities (environmental restoration and waste management) within
the state of Nevada The CAB mission does not include any aspects of the
U.S. Department of Energy Yucca Mountain Project since it is not part of the
DOE/NSO EM Program.
