Genne Nelson, Liaison

Ms. Nelson, a 14-year resident of Amargosa Valley, Nye County, Nevada, is a hydrotechnician for the National Park Service, Death Valley National Park (DVNP).  Her primary responsibility is collecting water data from springs in DVNP and monitoring water levels in Devils Hole, home of the endangered Devils Hole pupfish.  As a geologist, she will also evaluate subsurface control on groundwater flow in the area.  She previously worked on the Yucca Mountain Project in Nevada, collecting geologic samples, data, and engineering data for programmatic drilling and sampling activities.  Her background includes working as a mine geologist in coal, copper, molybdenum and gold in Alabama, Arizona, California, and Nevada.  She earned a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Auburn University and a Master of Science in Geosciences from the University of Arizona.  Ms. Nelson is a member of the Society of Economic Geologists, the American Institute of Mining Engineers, and is a registered professional geologist in the state of California.  Ms. Nelson is a former CAB member, serving from 2001 to 2007.
